Charleston City Hall Generator Installation Bid  and  Charleston Fire Stations Generators Installation Bid

The City of Charleston will receive Bids for the installation (labor, equipment and materials) until 10:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 520 Jackson Avenue, Charleston, Illinois 61920 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids are invited upon the scope of work as follows:

The City of Charleston is accepting bids for the installation (labor, equipment and materials) of a complete generator system including: one generator for City Hall (520 Jackson Avenue) in Charleston, Illinois.  The winning bid shall be determined based on the lowest responsive / responsible bidder.

The City of Charleston is accepting bids for the installation (labor, equipment and materials) of two complete generator systems including: one generator for Fire Station 1 (404 10th Street) and one generator for Fire Station 2 (1510 A Street) in Charleston, Illinois.  The winning bid shall be determined based on the lowest responsive / responsible bidder.

Bid Documents are on file at the office of the Charleston City Clerk at 520 Jackson Avenue, Charleston, Illinois 61920 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and Bidders may examine and may obtain copies of the Bid Documents from the City Clerk’s Office.

A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Charleston, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bond shall be submitted with each Bid.

Attention is called to the fact that the firm must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin and that all other Federal, State, and Local provisions shall apply.  Prevailing wage is required to be paid to all employees working on this project according to the current rates and classifications. The City of Charleston reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any informalities in the procurement process.

Bids may be held by the City of Charleston for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids, prior to awarding of the Contract.
