Municipal Electricity Aggregation Reinstated
Municipal aggregation leverages the buying power of our community to procure electricity supply for our residential and small commercial account holders (less than or equal to 15,000 kWh/year). You will continue to receive one bill from the utility, Ameren, and may leave the Program at any time without penalty.
Eligible account holders will receive an opt-out letter sent on behalf of the City by Homefield Energy in the coming days. Please do not disregard this notification. The letter will provide program details including how to opt out of the Program. If you do not opt out, you will be automatically enrolled.
The Program is designed to provide overall savings and budget stability for participating account holders and was initiated under the direction of the City. Budget billing customers will not be affected by participating in the Program.
For additional information about municipal aggregation, go to the State-run website, Plug In Illinois and/or Homefield Energy’s website.
